Dr Chuah graduated from University of Wales College of Medicine in 1985 with a distinction in Pathology & Medical Microbiology. He obtained the MRCP (UK) in 1989.
Prior to returning to serve in University of Malaya (UM) in 1992, he had 7 years of working experience in UK, including 3 and 2 years respectively in teaching hospitals in Liverpool and Leicester. In UM he was a lecturer/gastroenterologist.
Since 1996 he has been at Pantai Hospital Ayer Keroh. Dr Chuah is a much sought-after speaker both to doctors as well as to the public.
With good command of English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia, he has contributed many articles to newspapers and magazines. He has even appeared on Bloomberg, TV3 & Radio 2.
