Dr Victor Seah is a double-fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon in Singapore. He has a special interest in Orthopaedic trauma and geriatric osteoporotic fractures and is well versed in foot and ankle surgery as well.
He was awarded the Ministry of Health Health Manpower Development Programme Award to further his training with fellowships in Orthopaedic Traumatology in the Charite University of Medicine in Berlin, and a Foot and Ankle fellowship in Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital in Dresden Germany from 2010 to 2011. It was in these tertiary centres that he acquired skills and experience in treating patients with complex fractures and trauma, as well as the latest techniques in Foot and Ankle Surgery. Upon his return to Singapore, he was put in charge of the Trauma service for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. He was actively involved in the care of trauma patients and was the trauma team leader for the Orthopaedic Department in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. He is also passionate in the care of geriatric patients and patients with osteoporosis. He was also appointed by Ministry of Health to be a member of the Osteoporotic Hip Fracture Clinical Practice Guideline workgroup, formulating the best practice guidelines for the treatment of patients with Osteoporotic Fractures. He was also a member of the Ministry of Health Integrated Care Pathway Workgroup for hip fractures in the elderly. He also lead a multidisciplinary team in developing Khoo Teck Puat Hospital’s inaugural Integrated Practice Unit for geriatric hip fractures.
He is deeply involved in teaching and training of young surgeons. He held the concurrent appointments of Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, as well as a Clinical Core Faculty of the National Healthcare Group and AlexandraHealth Orthopaedic Residency Programme. He was also involved in the development of the curriculum at the new Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.
